Teams

Team Identity

Players are drafted into one of four Knights volleyball teams for the season. Each roster rotates together all year, building serve-receive chemistry, on-court communication, and team identity.

The Knights Volleyball League gives young athletes their first real team and league experience in volleyball — organized, welcoming, and genuinely competitive. Every Saturday blends technical work on passing, serving and setting with live match play.

Because volleyball is a communication sport, players learn to call the ball, cover teammates, reset after errors, and win points together. Those habits build confidence that carries far beyond the court.

Whether athletes are picking up a volleyball for the first time or already play at school, the league gives everyone contacts, reps, and a team to belong to.

Season Experience

What Makes the League Different

Unlike drop-in volleyball sessions, the Knights Volleyball League runs a true season.

Athletes are assigned to rosters, wear team colors, rotate through every position, play weekly matches, and experience standings, playoffs and a championship day in a positive, encouraging atmosphere.

The focus is not only on winning sets, but on:

  • Communication
  • Rotation awareness
  • Sportsmanship
  • Confidence-building

Every athlete rotates, serves, and develops throughout the season — no one sits on the bench for the year.

Community-Focused Environment

The league is built around the Knights community spirit.

Older AIS student-athletes support younger players as assistant coaches, line judges and referees, modeling the calm, encouraging on-court behavior volleyball rewards. Families are welcome at every match day to cheer rallies and build the atmosphere.

The goal is to make Saturdays feel loud, social, and community-driven for athletes and parents alike.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does my child need volleyball experience?
No. The league is beginner-friendly — coaches teach passing, serving and setting from the ground up, while experienced players get competitive match reps.
What should my child bring?
Indoor sports shoes, a water bottle, comfortable athletic clothing, knee pads if they have them, and a positive attitude.
Can children who don't attend AIS join?
Yes — WeSports Academy is open to the wider Vienna community.
How does payment work?
Registration is online with secure card payment via Stripe. Registration and payment are required to secure your child's spot.
